In the Yuan Shan Mountains, Grand Hotel Taipei is approximately 25 miles from Chiang Kai Shek International Airport. This location is also a quarter mile from the Jian Tan Station and two miles from Taipei Railway Station. The Grand Hotel is a non-profit organization owned by the Duen-Mou Foundation of Taiwan.

Hotel amenities include the Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness room (with sauna and Jacuzzi), eight-lane bowling alley (with ping-pong and billiards), and 10 restaurants and private dining parlors with an array of western and Chinese cuisine.
